BROILED TOMATOES

 

Ingredients:

4                 Tomatoes, large

2.5 Tbsp     Sugar, granulated

4 oz.           Butter melted

3 Tbsp.       Basil chiffanade or finely chopped thyme

Procedure:

1. Cut the tomato in half after removing the core from the top.

 

2. Sprinkle the halves with sugar and broil for a few minutes, until tender.

3. Sprinkle basil or thyme (which ever you prefer) over tops of tomato halves and spoon warm butter on to taste.
